陽光酷兒中心秉持著高度的熱忱與積極的態度，提供同志朋友完善的服務、多元的活動、舒適的環境，以及專業的疾病防疫資訊，創造出具有「活力」、「健康」、「文化」、「創意」的陽光酷兒，以成為亞洲第一的同志中心為目標。
與高雄同志10號書坊結合，陽光酷兒中心設置於同志 10 號書坊二樓及三樓，該同志書坊為南臺灣唯一的同志書店，為南臺灣最大同志文化聚散地點。該書坊在同志社群間極具知名度並極力推動同志健康及愛滋防治，此據點不僅可吸引既有之同志族群之外，更可結合書坊及其他同志消費場所辦理相關同志文化、陽光健康形象等系列文藝活動，吸引更多的同志及性別友善社群加入此中心的策畫及系列活動。
本中心的服務社群整合同志社群的屬性，包含以男同志為主體，根據年齡層區分青少年、中壯年與老年同志，設計不同的活動及目標。此外，本中心與性別多元團體密切合作，舉辦專屬女同志、跨跨性別朋友的聚會，讓本中心的參與社群更加多元，營造更豐富的陽光酷兒中心。
了解自己的性傾向，與異性戀文化區分的過程，是青少年同志發展正向性別認同的重要關鍵。然而因為性取向及多元性別概念在校園間尚未受到重視，青少年同志透過網路學習尋找自我認同，或在同志聚集之場域摸索探詢。因此，結合同志文化活動的陽光酷兒中心可協助青少年在身份認同的正向的引導，提供正確或減少傷害的資訊，透過平台與同志群體或是同志友善的專業人員交談或諮詢，協助青少年同志及其親友或是父母親，並且取得健康面對身份認同，學習「同志認同」、「安全的愛與性」、「負責任的親密關係」等課題，均是有助於營造同志健康文化的重要方向。 |

| Sunshine Queer Center (herein referred to as “SQC”) is the first established LGBT Center in Taiwan, financially supported by Centers for Disease Control, R.O.C, organized by Love and Hope Association and NO. 10 Gay Bookstores. Tries to decrease the infection rate of HIV between MSM (Men who have sex with Men) and becomes a health guidance center in south Taiwan. |

| To create the colorful and meaningful lives for LGBT, SQC arranges various courses like yoga, fitness, tarot, etc; moreover, holds blind dates for middle-agers, the groups who may have difficulties in making friends, to create suitable and safer methods for making friends. Besides, volunteers playing important roles in SQC, they introduce this center and provide correct information about HIV and STD to visitors. |

| To prevent LGBT from disease, SQC cooperating with hospitals, public health bureaus, and NGOs, offers weekly anonymous testing in Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Not only focus on the testing, but also the health guidance and counseling before and after testing, Moreover, SQC offers free personal relationship/ psychological counseling. |

| To strengthen cultural parts for LGBT, first, SQC invites scholars, doctors and celebrities to lecture on various gay subjects; second, posts latest world news about HIV, STD, gender, and human rights on the website and facebook; third, publishes monthly which contains all subjects in SQC. |

| To make a LGBT friendly society, SQC creates “LGBT Friendly Shop Label” and cooperates with shops, stores and restaurants). Makes up a contract with all LGBT Friendly cooperatives uploads the information of those stores on the website. Besides, SQC makes the first gay map for south Taiwan. This map contains information about gay shops in south Taiwan and health guidance. |
